This weekend was jam-packed with lots of sports activities. We had it all mapped out, had a plan, knew how it was going to work. Woo hoo! Love having a good plan. Why oh why does Mother Nature have to mess it all up?
Baylee and I headed up to Houston EARLY Saturday morning for a tournament with her select softball team. The weather is predicting rain and we are hoping to get in at least 2 games before it hits. At least make it worth the drive.
The girls are pumped. They are rockin' out to Miley Cyrus and Party in the USA waiting to warm up.
As they are rockin' out, Troy is back home taking Ethan to opening day ceremonies for baseball.
The girls get warmed up and we start our first game. In the middle of our third batter, the heavens open up and we all RUN (and I do mean RUN) for cover. My visor is blowing off my head. The umbrella is turning up instead of keeping me dry. We are running with a messed up umbrella, chair, catcher's equipment and Baylee's regular equipment bag. It was a MESS. We got soaked. Needless to say, the day was rained out and no other games could be played. So we headed home.
While we are driving home, Mollee played her first basketball game of the day, it started raining at home and Ethan's first baseball game gets cancelled.
We make in home in time to watch Mollee's second basketball game. Baylee and I were still a little damp because we didn't have time to change first before going to Mollee's game. As soon as the game is over, Troy takes all 3 to a skating birthday party. YAY! I was finally able to go home and thaw out!
Sunday.....
Troy and Baylee are up at 5:30 a.m. to head back to Houston to try and salvage what is left of the tournament. At 6:30 a.m. we get a text saying Sunday is cancelled as well. UGH! Thankfully they were still local because they stopped at McDonalds for breakfast before heading to Houston. They come back home and sleep a little longer before we head to church.
After church, Mollee and Ethan have a Jesus Day retreat for their first communion program. 3 hours later we are FINALLY done. Can I please have another day to the weekend to just do nothing? Pretty please with sugar on top?
