Bloggy Potluck Randomness

My mind has been all over the place lately with everything going on around here, with the kids, with my busines, etc.....  So why not share the madness and chaos with all of you.  I am sure you can relate...right?

I promise not to bore you to tears for too long.  I will just start with Friday and run through a little about our weekend and other random, silly stuff that either make me laugh or make me melt.  Kids are great like that.

So I am sitting in the carpool lane waiting to pick up Ethan.

Just your normal pick-up line I am sure a lot of you have to sit in E.V.E.R.Y S.I.N.G.L.E W.E.E.K.D.A.Y.

No biggie....I came prepared.

Yep, reading this great book with lots of eye candy pictures.  See, I really am trying to be a better and more interesting blogger.

This sweet, sweet little boy gets in the car and says.......
Ethan:  Mama, I am so ready for Summer.
Mama (that is me): What do you want to do this Summer.
Ethan:  I just don't want to miss you anymore.
Mama (who is hiding the "awwww" look from him):  Don't you like school?
Ethan:  I love school.  But I really, really don't want to miss you anymore.

I mean seriously...he melted my heart!  I love my sweet little boy. If he would have asked for a car at that moment, I would have bought him one.

Now on to the weekend....my oldest plays select (travel team) softball.  We are a sports family and softball is one of my all time favorite sports.  I think we enjoy it as much as she does.  Anyway, we spent the weekend in Houston playing in a softball tournament.  They did GREAT!!  Didn't place but slowly stair-stepping our way up the ladder.  We did get pretty beat up by the wind though.  I had a think layer of softball field dirt all over my face by the end of it.

Doesn't she look sharp in her uniform?

I have had a few people on Twitter ask to see my naturally curly hair.  So I snapped a quick picture (one of those mirror pics with my iPhone) before heading out to Houston.  And just so you know.....I do have a little more color in face.  Yes, I need a tan but it isn't quite this bad in real life.  Most of you only see me with my hair straight.  But here are my natural curls in all their glory.  My hair is really thick and sometimes it can get a little out of control.  Thank goodness for the Chi straightening iron.

And last (see....I told you I wouldn't bore you for too long) but not least....I saved the best for last.....Photo Booth.  What is photo booth?  It is a program on my Mac that my kids are addicted to.  It is like looking at yourself in a funhouse mirror.  Crazy, funny and the kids will crack up at it for HOURS.  Some of them are so dang funny that you can't help but laugh out loud.

Baylee (she does the most creative ones)

Mollee

Aren't those funny?  I really had a TON more to share but I figured I might lose a few of you if I shared them all.  If you have a Mac, I HIGHLY recommend you try it.  Family fun for hours!!

Now how is that for some potluck blogging?  Did I jump to too many topics??

Stay tuned this week.  I have several tutorials in the works...one of which I am hoping to get out this week.

Done! Thank goodness!!

The garage sale is finally DONE! Are yall tired of hearing about it? I am tired of thinking about it, getting ready for it AND talking about it! LOL! This will be the last post about it (I know you are cheering). I will say....garage sales themselves are a lot of fun. We met lots of neighbors and some other interesting garage sale-ers. It was an interesting weekend. However, I will NOT be doing it again for at least 5 years. Overall, it paid off and we did well. But I am soooo glad that it is done and I can park in my garage again. Sea World........ here we come!!

Oh! And in the midst of it all, a kitten ended up in my garage. The poor thing looks pathetic. It is really skinny and had a cut on its little head that is healing. I have no idea what happened to it. Baylee was able to coax it out and was able to pet it. The girls fixed it up some milk and food so I guess that means we have another pet. This is our 4th cat that has adopted us since we have lived here. We are calling it Scat. I can't turn it away though. It is just a baby and I really want to fatten it up at least. I will post a picture of him/her soon!

Happy 4th of July!!

We kicked off our weekend with parent day at swim lessons! The kids did great and really enjoyed themselves. Click on the pics to make them larger.

Check out the facial expressions. I was cracking up.

Now Mollee......this girl is much more focused. She takes things much for seriously and really concentrates on things. She did have a good time though! :)

Did everyone have a good 4th? We had a great one! I was supposed to be working on garage sale stuff but was pleasantly surprised to find out one of my very good friends was in for the weekend meeting her brand new nephew. Instead of working like a dog, Sarah stayed with us and I was able to have a nice and relaxing visit with her this weekend. It was so great to catch up with her. We did work a little (thanks Sarah for all the help) but for the most part we just relaxed, swam and slept in. It was great!

Now it is time to get back to the grind. Tomorrow is going to be a VERY busy day. For now, I am off to watch Design Star and fold laundry. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Crazy Weekend!

Well, we had a crazy and fun weekend! I will tell you that all this running around is exhausting. Saturday was spent going through boxes of "stuff" that we had packed up to "de-clutter" the house when we put it on the market. I recently decided that a garage sale was a good idea which meant I had to unpack it all (I know.....I should have thought of that BEFORE packing it all up). I learned my lesson there.

Saturday night consisted of some good eats and a yummy Italian margarita at Johnny Carino's before heading off to see Miss Carrie Underwood in concert. She was FANTASTIC! Even better in person. I was extremely surprised to hear her encore song. We kept thinking it was going to be "Before He Cheats" and nope.....out she comes with Guns n Roses "Paradise City." Huh? She did a really good version of the song though.

Today was my cousin's baptism. He is such a sweet baby. Troy was asked to be Baby H's godfather and we are extremely honored to take such a special role in this sweet baby's life. He was the perfect angel and did really well (pictures will follow soon). After the baptism we continued the celebration over lunch. Then some more un-packing was done. Man, we have a lot of "stuff."

And the kicker......our electricity has been out for the past 4 hours. Yup. It came back on around midnight. I am pooped, exhausted, tired, worn out and calling it a day. But not before I give you a sneak peek at what will be listed tomorrow in my Etsy shop. Take a peek and keep an eye out for it. It is a smaller version of my large hippy tote. The perfect transitional accessory! It is also the only one I will be making using this wonderful, vibrant fabric!

G'night all!
