Update on Us

We are now back online and just trying to put our property back together. We were very lucky! We lost our back and side privacy fences, we need a new roof and the doors to our shop and lawn equipment storage building was damaged and needs to be replaced. But thankfully, the house and we are fine.

Troy is working for FEMA again in the Houston/Galveston area and the damage is horrible. Some areas 20 minutes from us had 8 feet of water. He had to do some inspections in that area for some insurance companies and he said it stinks soooo bad. The water washed in eels, jelly fishes, alligators, etc... into people's ditches, pools and homes. I will include a link with pics of the destruction. Most of these pics are from areas that are within 20-90 miles from where I live. Orange and Port Arthur is 20 miles from my house and Crystal Beach/Galveston is where we used to have graduation weekend parties and spend Spring Break when we were in high school. Galveston is where Troy and I spent our first honeymoon night. :( We spent lots of time there growing up. If the surge would have been what they expected, we would have seen the same devastation that Crystal Beach and Galveston got. Orange and Bridge City (which are about 20-25 miles west of me) did see that kind of devastation from the surge. Even seeing the damage with my own eyes, I can't even imagine what all of these families are going through. I am just VERY thankful that we were so lucky.

It's Really Me!

I am back! Well, somewhat. Did you miss me? Hurricane Ike made landfall along the Gulf of Mexico and hit our area prett hard. We got electricity a few days ago but are still without cable/internet. It could be weeks before we get that. I am checking in with my trusty iPhone. Thankfully our house sustained no damage. All of our damage was outside (like the roof, our fence, screens, etc.....). We are very thankful and were very lucky! Wanted to say thanks to everyone for the well wishes and thoughts and prayers for my family. It is greatly appreciated.

I am happy to say that my Etsy store is open again with a few minor adjustments. Shipping will take place on Fridays due to limited resources in our area from the hurricane. Other than that, I am READY to get back to work! All orders placed within the past week and a half have shipped. Enjoy!

Enjoy your week!

Pics of My Sewing Studio

Well, really it is my crafting studio. I bead, sew and have scrapbook stuff in here. I love seeing where people create so I thought I would share my favorite room in the house. I finally had it clean enough to share. One of these days I will get this room organized enough to where I can have all of my fabric in one room instead of all over my house. Sorry for the cruddy pics. One thing I don't like about this room is that it doesn't get that much natural light. You can click on the pics to make them larger.

Sewing machines. My beading table is behind that. Need to clear out a TON of beads! Anyone need some beads?

The bag wall.

Scrapbooking stuff and fabric remants.

Part of my fabric stash.

My fabulous cutting table that my father-in-law built for me. LOVE LOVE LOVE my table!

Storage stuff. Mostly business supplies, patterns and scrapbooking stuff.

Thanks for looking! I would love love love to see your work space. If you have pics on your blog or somewhere else, please leave a comment so that I can check it out!!

Birthday Partying

Mollee had a friend's birthday party. She told me that her friend wanted me to make her a skirt set. Sooooo, I let Mollee pick out the fabric and the plan was to make a twirl skirt and applique tank. Well, I couldn't stop there. I ended up making a belt/sash, headband and matching bracelet. I think Mollee did a great job picking out the fabrics and it did my heart good to see Miss A hug it to her when she opened it. I hope that she enjoys it! Happy Birthday Miss A!

Priddy Creations Now Offering Camera BAG Straps

I have been busy working on some new items. I have decided to expand my camera strap slipcovers to incorporate camera bags and laptop bags. These items work the same as my camera strap covers only with an option for longer straps. This is especially nice for those that shoot actually wearing your camera bag or who tote around laptops on a consistent basis. Coordinate your bag and camera for the whole look!! With the bag straps, you have two options....listing choices up to 25 inches (which are my camera STRAP covers) or up to 28-30 inches for the camera/laptop BAG covers. You decide which listing will work best for you. Prices vary depending on which size you need. You can find the camera/laptop bag listings here.
I have also added a few new straps....once of which would work great for the guys! You can find the new straps here.
If anyone has any questions, please let me know!!

No Priddy Creations Labels

Unforuntately, I didn't pay close enough attention to my slowly dwindling number of clothing labels and have now run out. Just wanted to let all of you know that if you make any Priddy Creations purchase, you will notice the missing staple that usually adorns ALL of my creations. My camera straps look really funny without my label.

Thanks!

We Made it Back!

Well, we made it through Hurricane Gustav (thank goodness). Our area issued a mandatory evacuation Sunday morning so we decided to leave Saturday night to try and beat some of the traffic out of town. Thankfully, our area was not really affected and we only received some minor rain and wind. Thanks to Troy's sister and brother-in-law for having us! It was a great visit!

I also got my machine back from the shop so I am ready to work! My first priority will be to finish up a few orders that came in right before we evacuated and while we were gone. After that, lots of new projects in the works. A few of "witch" will be Halloween themed! :) So make sure you keep an eye on the blog for the links and goodies.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!
