I have been tagged!!

I have been tagged by Jill. I have never done one of these so it should be fun!

THE RULES:

1. Link back to the person that tagged you.

2. Share 6 unimportant things about yourself.

3. tag 6 people at the end of your post.Here are 6 very unimportant things about myself....

Ok, here goes....

1. My very favorite thing in the whole wide world is cheese fries. Not the gooey, nacho kind of cheese but loaded with shredded cheese. YUM!

2. I am addicted to watching the TV series Charmed. And the sad thing is that my middle one, Mollee, is now addicted. She almost has a fit if we are not home to watch it every afternoon.

3. I will buy things just because they are on sale. Even if I don't need it. I get caught up in the moment.

4. I don't love the beach. I take that back....love LOOKING at and hearing the waves crash....hate the sand and swimming in the ocean. Give me a pool any day.

5. If I get sunburn on my forehead, I will blister every time (all that dang Irish in me).

6. I am a morning person! :)

I am tagging my fellow blog buds:

My Sweet Mollee......

Mollee is so much like me that it actually scares me sometimes. We were on our way to my parents' house tonight for some boiled crawfish (I don't eat it but Troy LOVES it) and she and Ethan were having an argument in the backseat. Man those two have some stamina. We had no idea what they were arguing about so Troy asked her what the problem was. She told him, in her very serious voice "Don't worry about it." It took everything I could to hold in the burst of laughter. I was like uh-oh!! I am going to get an earfull now. Why, you ask? Because I am constantly telling the kids that. If one kid is getting in trouble, one or both of the others are always sooo nosy wanting to know what they did and why were they in trouble. I am constantly telling them "Don't worry about it." BAHAHAHAHA! I told Troy "I guess she told you!" and he responded "I wonder where she got that?" SIGHHHHHHHHHH! I am creating a monster! :)

Goody Goody Gumdrop

Our local World Market store is going out of business. There was only 10 days left til the store officially closed it's doors. I decided to take a quick peek and see what they had. Not a whole heck of a lot but I did manage to find a few things. They had these cute little jars that remind me of old fashioned candy jars that used to hold gumdrops and jelly beans. They were on sale for $2 each. And they had a slot for you to label what is in it. Removeable too! YAY! So, you can easily change the label without worrying about any sticky residue from labels or tape. I ended going back again today and buying a few more. They are perfect for storage and just fun to look at. And red is my favorite color! :) I also found some really pretty plates for $3 each that I plan on using as a decorative wall element in our room.

Anyone have any good finds they want to share??? Leave me a comment and share any goodies you have recently picked up!

New Chapter for Priddy Creations

As most of you know, I have been doing jewelry since 2002. It has brought me great joy over the years and has introduced me to MANY wonderful friends and customers. I am very thankful to have all of you in my life. The support and friendship has really helped inspire me. I have been wanting to move more and more to fabric creations and have finally decided to make the switch. Sooooo, what that means is that I will no longer being doing jewelry. I am sad to say good-bye to something that was such a huge part of my life but also extremely excited to see where this new endeavor will take me.

It will be a slow process making the switch. I still have plans to make and list pieces with existing clay inventory and will do that as time allows over the next few weeks (or even months depending on my schedule). I will also be clearing out all of my inventory and will be listing beads, findings, etc..... over the next few weeks.

I will still continue to make and sell the soldered pieces. I just will not be making finished pieces (bracelets and necklaces) with them. Just the pendants alone will be sold.

As for existing inventory, I will be marking those down and trying to clear those out. I am currently having a sale on my website and Etsy. I originally had everything (not including soldered pieces) on sale for 10% off. I am upping that to 20% now with FREE shipping on 3 or more pieces. This will be your last chance to get any pieces for a discount and custom sized. Once this sale ends, all pieces will be marked down and sold AS IS. Meaning no re-sizing. I am also willing to entertain REASONABLE offers on existing inventory. So if you see something you want, send me an email. This does not apply to any new items I list on my website or in Etsy after today. It only applies to pieces that are currently on my website or Etsy.

Keep an eye out for more information as things progress. I will post updates and info regarding my inventory here and through my mailing list. So if you would like first dibs on supply inventory (beads, findings, etc....), please sign up for my mailing list and/or subscribe to my blog feed.

Thanks again to all of my friends and customers who have supported me throughout the years. It has been a great pleasure working with and getting to know all of you and I look forward to your friendship and support as I take the next step with my fabric creations.

School Fundraiser

We have been gearing up for a fundraising event for Mollee's school. Each class has to put together some sort of themed basket to contribute for a silent auction. I am one of the homeroom mom's for Mollee's class meaning that me and the other homeroom mom had to organize and figure it all out. We decided to focus on our little city and hit up local businesses for donations. Even though it was a time consuming endeavor, it paid off for us because we got so many donations we had to divide it up into three baskets. Over $1000 in donations. WOO HOO!! We are hoping that it will bring in a good chunk of moo-lah for the school. I ended up making a little bag to hold the "Around Town" donations. The "No Parents Allowed" basket included lots of stuff just for the kiddos and then my little "Giddy Up" wallet/envelope holds a fabulous 1 free week summer camp at a local ranch. Lots of goodies here.

Keep your fingers crossed that the fundraiser is a huge success!!

Need Some Help with Style???

A very talented friend of mine has just recently started a new business that EVERYONE (in my opinion) is in need of in some way shape or form. Some of you may know her from her fabulous website, Purple Daisy Kids. Whether it be fashion advice, remodeling ideas, hot trends or organization of a particular space, Jennifer is your girl. She has a magical touch when it comes to making things coming together. A very creative lady that I have admired for a long time. Be sure and check out her brand new blog by clicking the below image.

The Cost of Children

I know for me, as a mom, I have my trying days (weeks even sometimes). Where there is not a Calgon box big enough to take you away. We all have those days. I thought this was a nice reminder of why it is worth it all.

The Price of Children

This is just too good not to pass on. Something verypositive for a change. I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way. It's nice.

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.

But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into:
* $8,896.66 a year,
* $741.38 a month, or
* $171.08 a week.
* That's a mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be "rich" Actually, it is just the opposite. What do you get for your $160,140?

* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to:
* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to:

* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watching Saturday morning cartoons,
* going to Disney movies, and
* wishing on stars.
* You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay or Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for:

* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat to history to witness the:

* first step,
* first word,
* first bra,
* first date, and
* first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, So . . one day they will like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!!

Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren!!!!!!!
